There is no verdict yet. The headset isn't even completely installed. I
suppose if I am going to come to a verdict I'll actually have to get out
and ride, huh? That's getting progressively harder to do.

This is my third Rawland, all with skinny tubing and all with low trail,
and the previous two were great. I'm not a low trail zealot, who thinks
Rivish high trail will steer me off the side of the road. It's just
different. You can steer more through a corner, but you have to steer,
with your hands, more on a low trail bike. My Rivendells I feel like I
steer with my hips. Both fine. I've never owned a bike that I thought was
too flexible, so this is another stab at that. This bike will never ever
get a rear rack, and will probably be completely unloaded 99% of the time.
I don't think my stout Rivendells carry a penalty for being overbuilt, and
I regard their stoutness as permission to load them up.

The brakes are the real experiment for me. These M.A.F.A.C. Racers are
astonishingly svelte, and yet they feel rock solid on the workstand. The
front are going to howl at least for a while. They have 0 toe in at all.
I really like the way the 32mm tires + fenders + brakes all happily
coexist. Cozy and comfortable. From a build perspective, that's been a
highlight. Yes, those SAUCY "french-tipped" brake levers also came on my
mom's bike. I'm testing the Jan Heine cockpit: no hoods.
