We are researching rides for upcoming vacation but would appreciate any
input from people - generally along the 5 from the CA/OR border to Seattle
area.

Here's the scenario - 7 people total: 2 grandparents (Cheviot/Space Horse)
who enjoy riding away from traffic, some hills but not killing themselves
all day. 2 young parents (likely Glorius/DoubleCross) who can handle
anything. Both subsets will get to go off on rides w/o the other (probably
limited to 4 hrs for the grandparents and 3 hrs for the parents).

And the rest of the time all 7 will ride together, which means a 7 and
9-year old riding their own bikes with a third young one pulled in a
trailer that shouldn't be bumped around a lot. Have to minimize exposure
to cars on these rides. Length of rides will be subject to how the 7 and
9-year olds handle the day, but can be mitigated if they are planned so
that if it comes down to it dad can race back to the car alone and then
come back to get the ones that need to be removed from the road. Really
helps if there are interesting stops along the route for kids to do/see
something besides being on the bike.

Some days we will all ride together. On some the grandparents may head off
in the morning and the parents in the afternoon so all the rides don't have
to be kid-friendly. Please share any of your great adventures that fit any
of these scenarios.
