Pushing the boundaries till they push back — it’s really the only way to really
know what we’re capable of. I just wish my boundaries were further out there!
Sardonic grin.

The plan: a two night, 160 mile loop to Deckers, Buffalo Creek, Lost Creek,
Lake George, Divide, and home.

The reality: The same bloomin’ creosote poles that blew up my brain on Goose
Creek Road a month ago haven’t aired out enough and blew up my brain again.
That road is off my list for this year. I’m slow, but I try not to make the
same mistake three times. Grin.

Got to dance with thunderstorms in stunning canyons following amazing rivers,
climb some challenging hills, camp in a new to me area at the edge of National
Forest at Lake Wellington, slog and bog my way up Stoney Pass which is lovingly
being re-topped with as yet to be packed down new dirt, take in epic views of
Pikes Peak from afar and Lost Creek and the Haymen fire burn area from close
up, and then get my carcass hauled out from Deckers by my wonderful, far too
good to me wife.

Photos prove the world is an amazing, beautiful place to explore and play!
