Long story: I ordered said tires for a Shogun conversion as there was lots of clearance for 650b tires. It was a very large frame, and with 38mm 650b tires, I was pushing standover clearance. After I ordered the tires, I resolved that the frame indeed was too big and sold it to another list member. Tires arrived and I installed them on a Univega conversion I've been working on. There was about 1mm of clearance on either side of the chainstays, so too tight for 42mm tires. I'll need to go back to 38mm, which is fine. So, now I have a pair of tires with no frame for them.
