I tried two pair of Sabot pedals on my QB when I first got it. Both pair
began creaking after just a few rides. I can't remember what VO said the
issue was, but their customer service was great! (they refunded my money --
Mike, I'd definitely contact them and tell them of your experience). I got
them because they look like an ideal barefoot pedal, and they weren't bad.
The VP Vice pedal is thinner and thus gives greater road and trail obstacle
clearance and feels the same underfoot as the Sabot -- a bit of a surprise
to me. The Sabot pins are rounded on top, which does not give aggressive
grip on the pin side (I remove the pins on the barefoot side). When I'm
shod it's often because it is wet/cold and the extra grip is fantastic and
roughly equal to the feel of the grip of being barefoot (being barefoot
provides a lot of grip, and amazing pedal feel/connection). All in all, I'm
so happy with the VP Vice I do not see a reason to pursue the search
further.

With abandon,
Patrick
