I am trying to mount the Silvers on 9sp Shimano pods, and found that pods have a little lip on the bottom edge of the square stud that prevents the washer with the square hole from mounting flush (I was going to mount the square-hole washers with the tab facing out so they don't interfere).
Without the square-hole washer, the cable holes don't line up, but if I use both round washers that came with the shifters, and forego the square-hole one, it seems to work, but then of course I need 2 more washers. So, any opinions on whether I should try to find 2 more normal washers, or grind off the tabs on the pods? Any advantages in terms of operation or longevity? Anyone come up with a different solution?
