I'm considering adding front bags to my Sam using the Hub Area Rack.
Anybody have any first-hand experience with these units? I recall hearing
that the first version without the hoop support suffered from flex, and I'm
hopeful that the support solves this issue.

Possibly pertinent info:

- I like using my Acorn rando bag with my Mark's rack, so don't want to
switch to a full-on rack like the Nitto. Keven assures me the HAR plays
well with the strut-mounted Mark's rack, and that three struts can share
the same mid-fork mounting point.

- I don't want to use Riv's Hub Area Bags due to lack of proper mounting
hardware.

- I want to use a pair of Lone Peak P-099s, like these:
http://www.thetouringstore.com/LONE%20PEAK/LP%20PANNIERS/P099/P099%20PANNIERS%20PAGE.htm.

The key question is whether the spread of the hooks on the Lone Peak bags
will fit the short-ish bar of the HAR, but the Lone Peaks can be easily
modded to bring the hooks closer together if necessary.

My ultimate goal here is to use the smallish P-099s (~24.5L) with an Acorn
rando bag and my Acorn seat bag for my typical shortish outings of 1-4
nights.

Cheers,

Neil
