My Ram is sporting a Shimano XT RD-M737 8spd-era long cage indexed to a SRAM PG990 11-32 9spd cassette with Dura-Ace 7700 DT shifters mounted to bar-end pods. All works great.
My commuter bike is running the XT RD-M750 long cage, which has been the most massive superhero of an RD I've personally encountered. I do't think it has needed adjustment in several years of all-season duty. I highly recommend those.
