" Is this an area that would be fine for my hetres, or do i need something
more flat-resistant?"

It's mostly decently maintained dirt roads, but there are some rocky
portions. We had a variety of tires. David had some pretty serious
looking knobs, Ian was on Smart Sams, Robert was on Rock'n'Roads (I think);
I was on a Marathon Supreme & Marathon Plus combo (no good reason, just
what was around). This route isn't too demanding of tires, other than some
skill at rock avoidance. Come to think of it, we had no flats and no
mechanicals.
