Wow! A lot of those points hit close to home. His comment about people buying cheap bikes because the name and / or the color was attractive is telling. It makes me appreciate Rivendell's philosophy of buying a bike that will last the rest of one's life. Perhaps we're working our way back toward the quality side here in the US? Waterford and other small independent builders are certainly producing quality products that will last a lifetime.
