My daughter did her 5th grade science project on rust proofed bike chains. We bought her a bunch of new chains (including a Wipperman) and cut them into lengths for her to do all kinds of mean things to them. The coated 4NRTH brand did pretty well. The Wipperman was also excellent. The worst stuff we came up with was a mix of peroxide, salt and vinegar. I've still never ridden with a Wipperman. For some reason I was able to make myself pay for it for a school project, but can't pull the trigger for riding.
