I've been on both sides of transactions, and actually the thought never occurred to me. In both cases, however, the other parties were known to me so it was just doing something for a friend. A couple of times listers have solicited someone "in area" to look at something, and I've made the offer to do so but someone else was already on the case. Over the years, I've gotten a lot of help & knowledge on these lists, so it just seems right to return the favor.
