Two years ago I posted an epiphany about a way to attach a Gino light mount
to a Nitto M18 or Mark's rack .
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/rbw-owners-bunch/S4O98dttMNs
Very recently completed a Rivish upright on a Viner cross frame - it
required a lugged Nitto seatpost to get the seat far enough back to put the
pedals in the right place.

The canti-boss frame needed a front brake cable stop, and since I was using
Paul brakes, opted for a front Paul Funky Monkey

<http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/bulldog1935/Raleigh/Viner/monkey.jpg>

The "monkey" is tightened to the stem using a countersunk M5 x5mm as a
set-bolt. I already had an old cut and varnished champagne cork with
washers and a long M5 - it threaded in fine in place of the short Paul
set-bolt, but with a Cygo light mount it was too close to the stem to mount
the Cygo headlight - but it looked good.

so I broke down and ordered a Gino, and this worked great. Remove the Paul
M5x5, remove the Gino M5 - use the Gino lockwasher - and an M5 x12mm. A
stack of 3 split lock washers take up the countersink in the Paul monkey,
and don't rattle. Worked great for both functions and solid as a rock, and
even looks like it was made this way.

Hope you're liking my Ostrich 731 bag, I know I am. Japan shopping is
killer right now because of the weak JY. The bag alone shipped express
from Japan in 4 days for $67 inclusive - it's twice that before shipping
from anyone selling it in the US.

Also got a good deal on the Nitto wire guard,
http://www.alexscycle.com/misc-/other/nitto-rear-brake-cable-wire-guard.html
and I'm not even going to mention the cost of the lugged seatpost from
Japan, but the wire cage from Japan was exactly half of the best US price.

Also made an easy quick release for a Cygo Hot Shot tail light -
cannibalized a seatpost mount, drilled a hole big enough for an M5, used a
long M5, two external two lockwashers and a half-nut.

Supposed to rain today through Saturday, but clear Sunday, and I'm hoping
to take a maiden ride into downtown to visit the local Frankenbike meet.
