I agree that the Rodeo/Clem combo would be a great pairing (the $4k Rodeo they have on discount is drool-worthy). I was also looking at this Clem when shopping my Sam. As for overlap with the Sam, I remember the Clem had the longer chainstays and a wild amount of tire clearance which gives it more fat tire versatility. No need to ever post questions about fender clearance. Still love my Sam and wouldn't part with it for any other bike... so far.
One thing they mentioned in the Blug was that this one didn't have any bottle cage mounts (if I remember correctly). The fact that the add-on fits between the seatpost and rear wheel is pretty cool though.
