I met Russ and Laura in northern California a couple of weeks ago, when a friend and I were riding from Eugene OR to San Jose CA and ended up camping with them a couple of times. My friend, a bike tourist purist, was appalled when he saw them sitting at the campfire watching a movie on their laptop. I'm from Silicon Valley, so I wasn't fazed, but they certainly are carrying a lot of electronics.
