So when Riv talks about a "race fit" all they really mean is that it shows more
seat post. I fall right between a 61 and 63 Hilsen. I have a 63 and am showing
a bit less than a "fistful of post." Your handlebar height would be well below
the seat if you had what the rest of the cycling world calls a race fit. You
won't have that with Riv sizing. And if you measured your PBH in bare or
stockinged feet, as Riv suggests, then your stand over would be 2mm in bare
feet (this does matter to Deacon Patrick!) which means you would have the extra
clearance of the soles of your shoes. Also, stand over is really not much of an
issue anyway., usually. I suspect you would be just fine on a 50cm Hilsen.
Riv's recommendations are pretty spot on.
