If it's '03, Rivendell didn't have that many models then (that's when I 
bought my Atlantis).  If it said "Rivendell" on the DT, it's a custom.  I 
see trusty Zefal pumps with (I believe) Jannd straps on both bikes.  The 
red one is geared & the green one lacks derailers.  Lon was the subject of 
an article in an early paper Reader about a scouting trip to South 
America.  Clobbered together an old MTB that was his utility ride, one 
chainring & a 7 speed for exploring Peru (or similar mountainous terrain) 
and away he went.  So for him, a "3 speed" was plenty for PBP.  Amazing guy.
