Well, no, not really.  If you have a low-trail bike that was meant to
use a wide, low pressure tire, you can end up with unstable handling if
you replace it with a narrow high pressure tire.  Similarly, if the
geometry was optimized for a narrow tire, replacing it with a wide low
pressure tire (assuming one would fit) could make the handling
undesirably sluggish and overly stable.
