Got a pair of Sorel 1964 boots for Christmas. Fantastic boots except for the heel (not sure why manufactures insist we go around like we're in estrus). Shaved off the heel with me hatchet. Now they feel much better to move in. Rubber seems to be really hard on a blade as I had to sharpen it numerous times, but it worked very well. I'll test them out on a hike or run later. Good tools are a joy!
