Great question, Anton. When I see ads I grew up with and thought nothing of 
at the time, they seem obnoxious now. I suspect most of it is my 
sensitivity threshold has greatly increased. This is a common experience I 
have with all aspects of more minimal (simple) living. For example, I can't 
fathom how I slept in a soft cushioned bed or sad in cushioned chairs (or 
chairs of any type), as they instantly feel wrong since I've shifted to 
floor living.
