I took some really old ski gaiters and strapped them on to the albas. They don't insulate much, but they do keep the wind from getting to my fingers. When combined with lobster gloves I'm good into the mid-low 20s for my commute. Don't have any snow tires for the Sam, but if it snows more than an inch or two I have a (too small) Raleigh MTB with knobbies I can use.
