On all my bikes accept one I have gone to the Shimano A520 pedals. I think it is a good looking pedal on a lugged steel bike. It is also an SPD pedal so I can wear a mountain shoe that is much more comfortable for walking in. On my commuter I am using a Shimano M324 which are flat on one side and SPD on the other.
