Thighs and knees seem to complain after 30-50 miles. I don't know what to

Thinking of windstopper tights, but I feel there must be a cheaper 
home-made, reliable remedy for this besides 75$-and-up cycling gear.

Maybe thicker wool long johns.

The gray/blue MUSA long pants would be great if they had some windstopping 
stuff on the front, but then they would probably be over 100$ then.
