Sorry Cecily. You need two-- one on the front seat, the second to hold up the bikes. :)
BTW: I have a VO wheel stabilizer on my crosscheck. Works fine. For my Hunqapillar, I pre-turn it. That way it doesn't flop the bike over. If I'm dealing with a heavy load (usually groceries), then I might bungie cord the wheel.
