About as low tech as you can get, but would a rubber band work? Just wrap the rubber band over the top of the splats and below your shoe.Not elegant, not permanent, but may give you some extended life... I got rid of my splats a while back because they didn't play nice w/ my flat soled shoes either. In Indiana I get slightly less rain than you, though... Best, Eric Indpls
