I use a Garmin 310XT GPS watch with the optional handlebar mount (get one
for each of your bikes!). I love it. It's pretty much the lowest model you
can buy from Garmin, but it's just what I need. No maps, no route loading,
no turn by turn navigation. Just a normal sized cylo-computer with some
nice added features that a traditional cyclo-computer lacks. Most notably,
the ability to track your ride and riding parameters, and upload them to
any mapping sites that can import .gpx files (like ridewithgps.com, etc).
The satellite tracking is more robust and accurate than that of
smartphones, and the battery lasts 16 hours between charges-- enough for a
day in the saddle. The mileage tracking is spot-on, and matches printed
cue sheets even on longer century rides. And switching from bike to bike is
a non-issue since it doesn't rely on wheel rotation-based speed
calibration. And when I run, I just clip it into the wrist band and off I
go. It's rated for swimming, too.

Anton, who still uses maps and cue sheets.
