Quick Swapping of Wald Basket on Front Rack

“I'm thinking of getting a front rack and Wald basket for my newish Homer
for commuting use. I already have a Sackville Shop Sack so it seems like a
no brainer. That said, I'd like to able easily take off the basket for
weekend rides with a rando bag without having to cut zip ties. Kind of a
hassle and a bit wasteful. Any suggestions?”

Jay,

I am successfully using the velcro ties to secure my rear basket to my drop bar
converted vintage Specialized MTB 'grocery getter'

bike with no problems.

Contributing to my method working could be the quantity as I used a dozen of
them and some of mine

are a bit heavier duty than those linked.

I just removed it over the Labor day weekend for riding around Austin, TX &
installed it back again upon returning.

It does take a bit longer with so many but not too big of a hassle and like you
I did not like wasting all the plastic zip ties/tie wraps.

I can lift the rear of the bike by the basket and there is no movement. I did
snug them down pretty tightly even breaking one by pulling too tightly.

The ties I used were purchased at Home Depot.

Sometimes I really load that basket down, lots of groceries, and even
occasionally carrying another complete bike on top of it.

Safe pedaling,

Paul in Dallas
