Hi Liesl, It's not just a saddle height thing, it's also a saddle setback thing.
If I recall correctly, you're riding a Riv with some major setback from a really slack seat tube. Is that right? A common metric for measuring correct saddle position puts the front of the knee directly above the pedal spindle while the spindle is horizontal. I would suggest you make sure you're coming close to conforming to this standard. If you're having major pain, you need to go see a pro. Ask around locally and find a well trusted bike fitter who works with all types of cyclists, not just racers. This stuff is hard to diagnose online or by yourself. I got a pro fit a few years back when I was riding my Bruce Gordon Rock 'n Road. We changed the crank length, saddle height, and saddle setback. I was surprised by how far "off" I was using the best advice I had gathered from the internet. A couple millimeters can make a huge difference! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
