Nitto often makes things on request (much of what we have is that way...like maybe half or more). Sometimes the requester will promise orders for a thousand and end up buying half that and disappearing. In the old days, that wasn't UNcommon. They have a ton of 1-inch quill stems, for instance, and it's not because they were trying to eat up factory time. Somebody ordered, didn't buy. The tubular tire carrier has the earmarks of something like that--it's been around for years and years---but it could also be resurrected upon request.
