Pricepoint has some 120tpi 27.5" tires from Vee Rubber for $30. I have the 
Flying Vee in 700C/29", and they are fast, with small knobs. Easy tubeless. 
It looks like they do big sales on 26" and 29", but not 27.5". Sorry. 

I don't know if they'd fit the Cheviot, but... maybe.
