Well, the rains around the Mid-Atlantic postponed Friday's scheduled Bike to
Work Day, so today was it in little Delaware. I took my most recent build, my
single speed Bombadil with some unusual details, on my longest commute route,
mostly on trails (a combination of pavement, gravel and grass), and maybe a
half mile on the road. It was a startlingly beautiful late spring morning, so
I stopped to take a few pictures along the way, including of a couple of
bridges over the Brandywine Creek and tributaries, a wonderful winding gravel
path through the woods and along the Wilmington Blue Rock cliffs, an abandoned
footbridge across the Brandywine to the old Bancroft Mills, a very pleasant
grass-cut path, a rose garden fountain in the Brandywine Creek city park, and
some long-abandoned railroad tracks that parallel the creek. Six miles of very
pleasant riding - no better way to arrive at work with the right attitude!

And, uh, I wore a helmet...
