Just to add my .02: Chris is the man. This ride was just the ticket to get out of dodge, have some fun on the bikes, and, as Chris noted, clear some headspace. We noted it was also a perfect ride to enjoy just how great and versatile Rivs are.
The Fire Lane descent was good times. The ground was so soft it felt like being on quicksand. Lots of fishtailing and pushing things JUSSSSST to the limit of safe and sane. Perhaps a bit past that limit, but comfortably so. Chris' fall went unnoticed by me. A bike that has never been crashed sounds, to us, like a bike that hasn't lived. "Not that much climbing" means different things to different people. So does "Mostly flat." The climbing up to Mason Hill Park on the hairpin turns was grueling. There was a time when I was walking the bike and stood to take a break, and noticed that the timbers were swaying very gently in the breeze, lightly brushing each other, and it was peaceful/beautiful/serene. Good reminder to enjoy the climb, and that the path is the goal. Our descent was about as fun as could be. Cruising, crouching, bombing down big sweeping asphalt rollers. There was a small debate about the store from which we ended up buying provisions. Me: "It says it's an Auto Parts store." Chris: "It also says it's a Grocery." We didn't need to buy any carburetors, but were happy to get some water and a V8. Good to know there is a place where we could one stop shop for auto parts and grocery items in the future. Soft cream, freshly frozen sounded delicious. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
