Actually, I think the idea of Rivendell-as-commuter is pretty strongly woven into the fabric here. I would agree that there has not been much recent conversation on that specific single topic, but know there are a bunch of us who do so. And any day you visit the RBWHQ&L, you'll find staff bikes regularly parked in the "lot".
