Another place you can check for trail access is East Bay Regional Park district website. They maintain some of the trails in the area and keep PDF's of the maps of the parks on their site. The link to the maps is: http://www.ebparks.org/parks/maps Also, if you live in Contra Costa County 511 Contra Costa will give you some excellent maps for free. I just finished mapping out how to ride from my place in Concord over the hills in Clayton through Black Diamond and out to Brentwood. It'll be a good test for a new bike that I'll be getting. w00t!
