Just received new Shimano Deore LX hubs for my Bleriot. Going to build the up with DT and Dyads. It has been a while since I have had any LX components and am literally shocked by their appearance. They look 10x better than the last LX hubs I had in 1999 and far better than the XT hubs I bought in '04. The finish is sort of a brushed silver. I think the old ones are painted gray, and the XTs are black. I will hold off on final judgement until they have a few miles on them.
It is easy to forget how great Shimano's middle of the road stuff really is- as I tend to pine over more topshelf stuff. This is final component for the Bleriot before I start putting it together.
