Nitto racks are nicely made (clean brazing/welds), but seem less sturdy than my Tubus Cargo and Surly Nice Racks. Also, I don't like the design of the current Nitto racks. The little triangular truss supports get in the way of pannier hooks on some panniers. And the Nitto racks are way more expensive. If I needed another heavy-duty rack, I'd buy another Surly and wouldn't likely consider the Nitto. Of course, the case could be made that the Surly rack is overkill, but given the context of this discussion, who cares about an extra pound or two? Jim
