Maybe not so far-fetched in some places - i remember the Virginia cops driving Volvos back in the '80s. It would sure be tempting to a (knowledgable) bike thief to see a cop on a Bombadil though.
It would be cool to see a dyno-powered set of police flashers on a bike.
