Given that nobody really knew on this list where the name came from, I took the suggestion above and emailed Grant. He got right back to me. He says he needed a name that invoked a budget A. Homer Hilsen. He wanted it to be a name that seemed like a non-nonsense kind of guy, and that he likes NAME names for bikes.
