Nothing special. Just a brush and some soapy water; I also remove the
chain every few weeks and degrease it.

Keep in mind I had a lot of time on my hands, I was taking a few days
off from riding because my knee hurt (all better now).

You might also be looking at pictures of the bike when it was brand
new--I took the early pictures after only about 100-200 miles.
