I grew up in the Llano Estacado plains country of Eastern New Mexico, in a small town that was the county seat (Lovington). This was definitely not in the days of my active bicycling, and at that time I was completely unaware of the canyonlands of Western Texas. The only major surface feature that I particularly enjoyed, at the time, was the Caprock area.
A while ago I purchased a book, "Caprock Canyonlands" (published by the University of Texas press) it really opened my eyes to the magnificient canyonlands area. I'd like to visit sometime, maybe even stop through Lovington on the way! On the subject of moustache bars, I've had a set on a classic Paramount P-15 for some time. I got my bars from a local Tucson shop in 1994, after Grant spec'd them on his iconic XO-1 Bridgestone. Since then I've had the Paramount restored/custom painted by Cyclart and fitted it up for a time with Nitto No. 185 bars (the precursor to the "Dream" bars). I decided later to revert back to my moustache bars, which I especially like for shorter rides (>20 miles) and path riding.
