No 1,000 mile rides for me, but one problem I have with an otherwise
generally comfortable hooks position is that, after a few miles, my left
palm starts getting sore and, eventually, numb; my right hand is never
troubled. Do you think that some of this would help with the palm? And, #2:
is it very bulky? -- Would it bulge noticeably under a layer of syntho-cork?
Or does the stuff go on like regular bar tape, as the sole layer?

It's funny, but apart from this left palm problem, I don't need gloves even
on bars that are, as far as padding goes, virtually bare. (Again, I don't do
1K mile rides and these aren't moustache bars.)
