For Sale: Rivendell All-Rounder, probably the first one built (Oct.,
95). Built by Waterford, with Waterford sticker on left chainstay.

This bike was the prototype for the AR, used by Grant Peterson as a
commuter for several years, sold to me 4/99, and used by me as a
commuter for about 4 years. Total mileage on the bike is about 5-6000
miles.

Top Tube 57.5cm, Seat Tube 55cm

Original Paint: Burnt Orange, with grey head tube. Old style Riv
decals and placement (no seat tube decals).

Tubing: Reynolds 753 frame, 531 Forks. Tubing stickers in French (for
some reason).

Frame includes braze ons for front and rear racks.

Some of the components are the original Riv component mix of the mid
90s:

Mavic "Le Mond" triplized crank
Original BB (Don't know make)
Rear Wheel: Mavic 217 rim, "Winkel Wheel" with Bullseye Hub
Front Derailleur: Shimano XT
Headset: Stronglight

Other components have been substituted by me:

Front Wheel: Mavic 238 Rim, Shimano Nexus Power generating hub
Handlebars: Riv. Moustache
Seatpost: Kalloy
Stem: Nitto 7cm
Tires: Venerable Avocet Cross, 26x1.5, probably should be replaced
Brake levers: Dia Compe, work with V Brakes
Brakes:Shimano V Brake, LX
Bar end shifters: One Campy (indexed for front derailleur, three
detents), One Sun Tour (friction shift)
Rear Derailleur: Sun Tour XCD
Generic Seven Speed rear freewheel assembly
Blackburn rear rack
Fenders: Mt Zedal, cut to fit
Lighting system: Shimano Nexus with Basta front and rear lights, plus
wiring

Note: Bike is for sale without saddle. Disregard saddle in photos.

Lighting system currently is inoperative; the Basta front light may
merely need a new bulb, or the problem may lie elsewhere. (Débrouillez-
vous!)

The frame has the usual amount of "patina" (Jan Heine) or
"beausage" (GP) that one would expect for a bike of this age. I've
just noted, upon taking the photos, that there is a long scratch with
some rust on the bottom of the top tube--I would have touched this up
years ago if I had seen it. This appears to be purely surface rust,
however.

Price: $1200, plus shipping and boxing (to be done at a bike shop),
from State College PA, 16801.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
