So I finally got well enough to take that first test ride on Tues. May 5. (unless you count Monday's foray to Montreal to test ride a Santana Tandem, which went quite well). On Tues. I took an 18 mile ride and the foot felt fine for the first six, uncomfortable for the next 6 and then began to hurt. Even that was manageable for for another 4 miles or so as long as I stayed in a low gear and spun, but the last hill, a very hard 1 1/2 mile pull really did smart. But all in all I call it a great success. But I'm definitely not ready for my commute (30 miles) and reluctant to take our my clean bike in the steady rain and the dirt road I live on. Can't wait to try a second ride tomorrow.
