I don't know if taking your fenders off your Quickbeam will work, but
I think putting fenders on my Riv works here in Tucson. We've had
1.66" of rain year-to-date.

I had a set of Honjo hammered fenders around that I'd taken off my
Paramount Moustache bike after I fitted some Campy Record sidepulls on
the bike. The rear brake Campy sidepull only fits with a drop-bolt
(originally used by Schwinn to fit this type of brake to Paramounts
that didn't have full frame customization for sidepulls). The drop-
bolt has a protrusion on the underside that leaves too little space to
fit a Honjo fender. So, I fitted the Riv up with the fenders (you
don't see many bikes with fender in Tucson, but I liked the way they
look).
