Agreed!  I like the people in my local bike club, but their rides pretty
much revolve around riding fast from point A to point B then back.  I
haven't renewed my membership in couple of years...

The Rivendell rides OTOH are quite fun!  Unfortunately it involved a lot of
travel to bring the folks together.
