Now that I'm a bit more fully recovered, decided it was time to express my joy of having an Atlantis. The ride yesterday was miserable. In fact, a couple of times really felt like throwing in the towel and finding a sag wagon. All the problems were due to the engine, not the bike. The Atlantis handled beautifully. Not only on the downhills but also climbing. Was able to hold a straight line easily. Even near the end when totally out of gas and using a silly low gear. Due to the ample room, was able to have not only fenders, but nice squishy tires underneath. In fact, the rear got too squishy not just once, but twice. Still, rode the last 10 or so miles that way. (Way too exhausted to change again.)
At least one passing rider commented the fenders seemed like a sensible idea. Although by that time, everyone was soaked. Not getting rider stripe was welcome, though. A truly enjoyable bike for a truly less than enjoyable ride. How bad was the rain? My hobo bag had standing water in the main compartment. But the back two pockets (which held camera and cell phone) were thankfully dry.
