That blog entry link you posted looked to be from Interbike (~September),
which would explain the "M&M" style presentation. John's Flickr photos are
the first I'd seen those "in the wild".

Speaking from the retailer's perspective, this is not yet the year to lay in
new stuff that is anything but a sure thing. I think most smaller shops are
being very careful about inventory expense.

That being said, any retailer worth their salt should also be on
super-hyper-double alert to special order things for customers who show an
interest.  I'd talk to your local shop and see if they could special order,
or call Riv with the same question if you don't want to contact White
directly.
