Jim:

I use wool caps under my helmet in the winter to stay warm and in the summer to
stay cool and handle sweat. They beat cotton for me hands down. Higher initial
cost and more involved laundering (when needed, you don;t wash wool every time
you wear it) are the offsets.  I have the pumpkin colored RBW hat recently for
sale, as well as several from Jackie Walz. I still enjoy cotton RBW caps on
Spring and Fall days (yesterday for example) when the temps are between
extremes.

I got one of those wool cycling hats like Riv
sells.http://www.rivbike.com/products/list/clothing#product=22-137

I've been wearing the cotton cycling hats under my helmet both for the visorand
the sweat absorbency.
The wool hat is  better on the absorbency score.
