Note that the difference on Friend's bike is only 2.5 mm, or 1.25 mm a side. Sidle up to him with a micrometer and show him what 1.25 mm looks like. Gaze earnestly into his eyes and ask him, plaintively, if said space is really a problem. Point out the immense intergalaxial spaces and the puniness of Man on a small planet in a small solar system in a modest galaxy. Gently urge him to practice, practice, practice, while breathing deeply and regularly and thinking mild and inoffensive thoughts.
