I'm reading between the lines here but it seems to me that the chart
indicates an old fat guy can ride a bike frame meant for a lighter
rider if he is a careful rider, which I am. ( I understand the
liability thing too) I have several thousand miles on a glued steel
and aluminum frame from a maker in the 80's located in Kent Washington
and it still hasn't failed so I'm thinking, I can ride a QB or a
Hillborne and not crack it even though I tip the scale at 255 pounds
right now. I own several bikes of vintage and more recent production
but I really want a nice lugged (do all) frame but especially enjoy
riding my derailleurless bike.
I am hoping a QB or the soon to be released economy model of the QB
which hopefully will have tubing more closer to the Hillborne will
work for this old fatty. I'm saving my money!!!
